During the period 2009 – 2019 the rail industry had 20 workforce fatalities. 50 percent of these were on the road.

Leading Health and Safety on Britain's Railway (LHSBR) – Occupational Road Risk Management sets out a series of strategic challenges to encourage the rail industry to increase awareness and effectiveness in the management of occupational road risk. This September, we will be launching a new Rail Sector focused road risk resource centre with our partners Highways England and the Association for Road Risk Management.
