What role do senior leaders have in managing fatigue risk?

Fatigue risk management is one of the 12 key priorities for cross-industry collaboration in our Leading Health & Safety on Britain’s Railways (LHSBR) strategy. Incident investigation reports have shown that fatigue is a factor in about a fifth of high risk incidents on the railway. It can also affect the physical and mental health of the rail industry workforce. There is a moral and legal imperative for rail companies to manage this risk which must be led by our senior leaders.
