The Safety Management Information System (SMIS) is the railway’s national database for recording and analysing safety-related events. It has a comprehensive suite of standardised data entry forms that automatically notify the Office of Rail and Road if necessary. With these reports and data, you will be able to understand and reduce safety risks, whether you are a rail company, manager or accident investigator.
